Challenge: My Kingdom For Some Shoes
Run By: J.j.
She said: How glad am I that this challenge inspired you so much? I think I'm the one who got the real treat. I absolutely loved each one of your entries.
My absolute favorite one was the Caroline one I laughed to see your explanation for how it fit the prompt. Just goes to show how much one idea can lead you in a totally different direction. (I would have been a wuss, and just entered it under a different prompt if I thought my explanation was clearly on crack.) I really love the composition, coloring and text. JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING about the piece, actually. The background, OH GOD THAT IS AMAZING. The textures with the light stocks? Everything REALLY comes together wonderfully.
Overall, I really loved the way you worked with the stars stock in each of your pieces. It never felt out of place, and it was used WELL. I'm also really fond of the colorings you used. They really fit each piece. The browns were really earthy and natural, the Jasper one was absolutely gorgeous and just gave off a happy, calm environment - all while the texturing balances it out with some chaos, but not too much. And the Sasha one was FUN and lively. The Rosalie/Emmett piece - very sexy, rich and deep.
Any criticism I can give you would maybe be...IDK. I'd have to think about it. I think in some pieces, I feel like the text stretches out too much or something. It throws off the composition just a little bit, for me. (specifically, I'd say the Denali piece and MAYBE the Emmett/Rosalie piece.) But I still love the text itself, how it's always interesting overlapping, changing...

Challenge: Know Your Onion!
Run By: Heather
She said: I actually went out and rented "Transformers" last night so I could watch it for a third time because of your piece. No joke. As much as I hate Megan Fox, her character is one of the most complex ones in the entire movie and you proved that with the scene you chose, the composition, the text, the colors, and the textures in this wallpaper. It's awesome. And I love what you did with Megan Fox's rather emotional screencap on the right side of the piece - the lighting, the softness, etc...it really accentuates her emotions and whatnot. Great job!
